The Zug Sports Act creates a framework for the promotion and support of sporting activities for the population of all ages (§ 1). As a cantonal service agency, the Office for Sport is responsible for coordinating and supporting the sporting activities of associations, clubs and institutions (§ 12), and we are delighted to support a sporting event such as the Zug Trophy. It is open to all sections of the population and age groups and is therefore in line with our mission to promote the health of the people of Zug.

The city of Zug aims to increase and promote sport and the proportion of the population of all age groups who are active. After all, sport is an important aspect of health promotion, accident and violence prevention and social integration. What we particularly appreciate about the free Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy is that it is aimed at individual athletes as well as clubs, organizations and schools. To ensure its continuation in the long term, the city of Zug made a generous contribution to the purchase of the new timing machines.
