16 days until the end of the season
The long loop around Lake Aegeri is the highlight of the final stage.
The days of this year's Zugerberg Finanz Trophy are numbered. The last two stages in Unter- and Oberägeri will run until Friday, October 6, 2023, when the machines will be winterized at 6 pm.
Even now, a good two weeks before the end, the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy is already producing impressive figures. Last weekend, for example, 40 starts were counted in Unterägeri on Saturday and 44 in Oberägeri. On Sunday there were over 50 in Unterägeri.
By the time this newspaper is published on Wednesday, the 80,000 kilometers will have been run and the world will have been circumnavigated for the second time. In total, over 1200 participants have started at least once so far. Heidi Müller from Unterägeri proves that it can also be well over 300 starts this year. She is currently not only the leader in terms of kilometers, but also in terms of altitude. Cielo Arnold and Daniel Etter are still hot on her heels in terms of kilometers. Her two closest rivals, Urs Huber and Sti Foerster, are unlikely to be able to catch her in the altitude meters. The two duel for second place behind her.
In the company and club rankings, the picture is still the same as it was a few weeks after the start of the season. Of the almost 60 registered companies, Partners Group was 400 kilometers ahead of Zugerberg Finanz AG last Sunday evening and almost 440 kilometers ahead of Siemens employees. It remains to be seen whether Zugerberg Finanz can maintain second place. The podium places for the clubs are unlikely to change: The Höllgrotten Harriers are 1300 kilometers ahead of Veloclub Menzingen and even 7200 ahead of the Cham running group. Incidentally, there are almost 130 runners in the club rankings!
