After record at Zugerberg now in Menzingen

On Sunday, the 3rd stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy ended with a record number of participants on the Zugerberg. On Monday, the 4th stage started in Menzingen.

Team Advantage, which is responsible for the temporary route on the Zugerberg, recorded over 1000 starts. "Several participants found the ascent via Blasenbergstrasse more pleasant than the route from Schönegg to Zugerberg," says stage manager Sara Hübscher, adding: "This made the route very attractive for the altitude challenge." The following participants were the fastest to complete the 5.8 kilometers and 450 vertical meters: Mountain run Philipp Arnold and Maria Gerber, road bike: Kevin Züricher and Claudia Sutter, mountain bike: Kevin Zürcher and Janina Wüst.

The rankings for the short, medium and long distances in Ennetsee are once again headed by familiar names. Philipp Arnold from Cham is still in top form and wins all three distances. Doris Nagel-Wallimann wins the medium and long distances. Céline Osborn-Smith is the fastest over the 2.2-kilometre short course.

Over the Gubel
The Trophy is now making a guest appearance in the Zug Highlands. The timing devices will be in Menzingen until Sunday, July 17, 2022. The start is at the Hasental farm. The short route is a leisurely loop of 3.6 km with 60 meters of elevation gain. On the medium route, the steep climb up to the Gubel awaits. This is 8.1 km and 170 meters in altitude and the long route takes you to Finstersee and back via the Gubel, which is 14 km and 260 meters in altitude. The mountain route also starts in the Hasental valley and ends after 3.4 km and 210 meters in altitude on the Chnollen. Karl Röllin, stage leader and member of Veloclub Menzingen, describes "his" stage as varied and a "scenic delight with far-reaching views".
