A toast to great performances and the end of the season!
The Zugerberg Finanz Trophy community at the end-of-season aperitif on Friday, 3 October 2025
Anyone who runs 300 km with us, collects 10,000 meters of altitude or completes all the mountain stages in one day by bike is invited to the end-of-season aperitif by our presenting partner.
On Friday, October 3, 2025, we said goodbye to the winter break. On the same day, we met in the garden of Zugerberg Finanz AG for the annual closing evening. With almost 16,000 registered starts, we can report the second-best result of all time. After setting a record at the anniversary event last year with over 20,000 times, the number of participants has now stabilized at a high level. With 1270 participants, that makes an average of thirteen starts per person.
Closing with special guest
Every year, the closing aperitif provides an opportunity to get to know the faces behind the names in the rankings - and of course the best are celebrated. The outstanding figure is once again Heidi Müller from Unterägeri. She collected by far the most kilometers (2160) and altitude meters (86,000). The challenge cup for the most hard-working club went for the first time to the Zug International Women's Club (ZIWC), whose members were delighted with their victory. Once again, the trophy for the most active company went to the employees of Siemens. Special guest was former professional cyclist and current trail running specialist Emma Pooley. She pulverized all mountain running records and gave away two of her recipe books "Oat to Joy" to Philipp Arnold and Claudia Sutter, winner and winner of the road bike category.
Brevet to be extended
Timo Dainese, CEO of Zugerberg Finanz AG, thanked everyone for their contribution. He picked up the thread from Pooley's cookbook and motivated those present to hit the buffet hard, as next year only oats would probably be served. He also mentioned the record number of brevet graduates. 144 athletes completed the cycling circuit with an average of 150 kilometers and 3200 meters of altitude. The record suggests that the Brevet is too easy and that it will be supplemented in 2026 "with the Walchwilerberg, known among 'Gümmeleren' as the biggest bastard in the canton."
Before the official starting signal for the Trophy 2026 is given on March 21, 2026, there is one more important date this year. On November 1, 2025 at 10 am, our Trophy telethon with ruedirennt.ch will start at the Ägeribad in Oberägeri. Anyone who would like to run 1, 2 or 3 laps around Lake Aegeri is very welcome (pace between 6 and 6:30 min/km).
