Club Trophy ranking list and co

The Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy came to an end last Friday in glorious sunshine. It was another successful edition. A total of 53,000 km were covered and 9,100 participants registered.

Philipp Arnold from Cham dominated the Trophy again this year. He won all six categories. This means that he is the fastest runner over the short, medium and long distances as well as on the mountain. He is also the fastest up the mountain on his racing bike and mountain bike. The multisport athlete is in a Trophy class of his own. This year, he has also improved several of his own course records.

Kilometers on running meters
Thomas Walker's performance is also admirable. He won the "frequent runner" category, in which he collected 2,100 kilometers. That's an average of 12 kilometers per day (!). No one before him has ever achieved that. Second-placed Matthias Derungs is already well behind with 905 kilometers. The Menzingen cycling club wins the club trophy, ahead of the Cham running group and the Höllgrotten Harriers. All three clubs owe their place on the podium to individual hard-working runners. As a member of the Menzingen cycling club, Thomas Walker accounts for around a third of the club's kilometers. Jean-Claude Grässli ran by far the most for the Cham running group. The Höllgrotten Harriers would have made it onto the podium even without the kilometers run by Heather Hobday and Harald Kaspar. Nevertheless, the two were by far the most eager Harriers. New in 2019
Planning for the 15th edition of the Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy is already underway. If everything goes well, two categories will be added: Orienteering (Running Trophy) and e-bike (Mountain Trophy). Those who have cut their teeth on the long stage in Ennetsee can look forward to it. The route will be shortened from 21.2 km to 14 km. It starts as part of the Winter Challenge on 23.02.2019
