Competition preparation and altitude fever
The third stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy has already been underway for ten days. The local mountain and the laps through the municipalities of Hünenberg and Risch are ideal for preparing for the competition.
After the Zugerberg Finanz Classic, which takes place today on Global Running Day, the next sporting events will soon get underway. On the weekend of June 11/12, Zug will be the meeting place for the triathlon scene. The Youth and National League competitions will take place on Saturday. On Sunday, the athletes will compete in the duathlon, short-distance triathlon or the Olympic distance. The organizing committee is still urgently looking for helpers. Around Lake Aegeri
The 22nd Aegeri Run will take place on Friday, July 22, 2022. The 14.14 km run also offers new runners the ideal opportunity to get a taste of competition. The pair run splits the distance in half, one 7.14 km and one 7 km. And the best way to ensure that you are well prepared at the starting line is to train in Ennetsee on the 2.2 km, 5.1 km or 14 km laps. On these routes, you have to overcome up to 190 meters of altitude. However, if you want to make up ground in the altitude challenge, it is better to start on the mountain stage from Zug to the Zugerberg. On the temporary route from the Ägeri/Weinbergstrasse junction via the St. Verena chapel and Blasenberg to the Zugerberg, you cover 450 meters of altitude and 5.8 kilometers on a steady ascent.
8000 meters of altitude are the ultimate goal of the altitude challenge. After around nine weeks, more than 30 participants have already achieved this goal. The leader, Robert Scherer from Mühlau, already has well over 20,000 vertical meters to his name. Even those who are not quite so diligent will be rewarded. For every 2000 meters of altitude, you receive a drinking bottle as a gift and for 4000 meters, a pair of cool socks.
