Village club on trophy trails

The Niederwil village association is responsible for the new stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy - and now meets once a month for a get-together followed by an aperitif.

The Wiprächtswiler are in charge of the new stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy in Niederwil near Cham. This sporting event is new territory for the club, which was founded in 1996 and takes its name from the former name of the hamlet of Niederwil. Up to now, the organization of the Wiler Chilbi at the end of September and the creative participation in the Cham carnival parade have shaped the club's life.

As usual, a short, a medium and a long route are also signposted in Niederwil. In figures, this means a 2.7 km, 6.1 km and 13.5 km loop. Since the start of the Trophy at the end of March, members have been meeting up on the first Thursday evening of each month for a run or walk over the medium distance. This was also the case last Thursday, when eight Wiprächtswil residents aged between 19 and 66 gathered at the Schützenhaus.

Whether walking or jogging, they all mastered the beautiful route via Frauenthal Monastery without any problems, even if some of them complained of a slight stitch at the finish. Afterwards, the joint aperitif in the Träumli restaurant near the Schützenhaus was a must. Coke, beer and tarte flambée taste particularly good in the evening sun and after a bit of exercise ...
