Early start of the 3rd stage

The reward at the finish of the Mountain Trophy: the view from the Zugerberg

The starting signal for the 3rd stage of the Raiffeisen Zuger-Trophy was given two weeks earlier than planned, on Saturday, May 2nd. Kilometers are now being collected again in Ennetsee and on the Zugerberg.

Up to and including May 17, times can only be recorded using a smartphone. After the planned start on May 18, it will also be possible to record your time with a stamp card or report it via the web form. The Cham running group is in charge of stage 03_Ennetsee with the three routes over 2.2 km, 5.1 km and 14 km. "The routes along Lake Zug are very varied. On the long loop, you have to conquer a whopping 190 meters of altitude," says Daniel Föllmi, stage manager and himself a Top Ten Trophy runner, describing the stage.

500 meters longer
2.9 km, 14 % average gradient and 380 metres in altitude - these are the hard facts of stage 03_Zug-Zugerberg, whose start at the Schönegg station has been moved down a little this year. This lengthens the route by 500 meters and the difference in altitude increases by an additional 60 meters. Once at the top, the effort is rewarded with a wonderful view over the Zugerland. The Baar-Zug Cycling Club, which is celebrating its 111th anniversary this year, is responsible for the stage. Here, too, participation is only possible with a smartphone for the first two weeks.

Keep your distance
It is still important to keep a distance of two meters from your running partner and to comply with the measures recommended by the FOPH. The workshops for Trophy participants planned for May have fallen victim to the virus. The bike technique workshop on May 13 with Stöckli Outdoor Sport has been canceled. The rescheduled date for the running technique course on May 19 with Laufshop Dynamix is still open. The outdoor training course on June 4 at the Skinfit Shop Sempach has also been canceled without replacement.
