End of our Trophy season

Councillor Martin Pfister and Felix Jaray, Head of the Office for Sports, also took part in the Trophy together this summer.

Government Councillor Martin Pfister also took part. Together with Felix Jaray, Head of the Sports Office, and "Trophy inventor" Reto Benz, he completed the middle stage in Zug this summer. Projects such as the Zug Trophy "make our canton an attractive place to live, a place of sport and exercise," Pfister reports on his website.

Mister Zuger Trophy
Zug residents took part, as well as sports enthusiasts from neighboring cantons. The figures speak for themselves: 7,800 registered times with a total distance of 45,800 kilometers. Plus 1,700 times with 5,500 kilometers in the Zug School Trophy. The Trophy is motivating. This is shown by the times of the overall winners who completed all 6 stages. The winners in the categories running (short, medium, long), mountain running, road biking and mountain biking are: Jennifer Heer, Joanna Murphy, Rita Wicki, Conny Odermatt and Andrea Arnold. In the MTB category, no female athlete completed all six stages. In the men's category, Philipp Arnold from Cham is once again this year's "Mister Zuger Trophy". Arnold won all categories except racing bike. An exceptionally strong performance. And it was Jens Groos who was able to beat Arnold in this one discipline. The organizers would like to congratulate the fastest runners, as well as everyone else, on their achievements.

Big head start
You could also measure your time in orienteering, which is a new sport this year, as well as in walking and Nordic walking. There is only an alphabetical list for the e-bike. Also worth mentioning are the best of the club and frequent starter trophy. The Höllgrotten Harriers excelled as a club with a lead of over 2000 kilometers. Alois Huwiler collected the most kilometers as an individual athlete. In his 132 starts, he covered almost 930 kilometers.

It starts again on 22.02.2020 - a date to remember.
