Final spurt in the Aegeri Valley
This year's edition runs until Friday, October 4, 2024
It is always the final crowning glory: the magnificent 17.2-kilometre loop around Lake Aegeri. Due to the anniversary and the fact that the kilometers could be collected on all stages throughout the season, the beautiful lake was already circumnavigated around a hundred times before the official start of the stage. The longest stage of the Trophy is worth it if you want to win the fantastic prizes that Zugerberg Finanz AG is offering again this year. The limits for these prizes were once again set at 2500, 5000 and 10,000 meters of altitude respectively, or 75, 150 and 300 kilometers. Those who complete the first stage can look forward to a pair of the now legendary Trophy socks. For the second stage, there is a practical multifunctional scarf and the main prize is a cool hoodie. More than 120 exercise enthusiasts have already reached the required 10,000 vertical meters. First and foremost Heidi Müller from Unterägeri, who cracked the 100,000-meter mark last week and is already heading for 110,000! A good 100 Trophy fans have also reached the 300-kilometer limit. What they all have in common is that they can look forward to the end of the season together, the finisher's aperitif at the headquarters of Zugerberg Finanz AG.
Last battles for podium places
Until then, the routes in the Aegeri Valley will be at the center of the action. In addition to the loop around the lake, the short and medium distances of 2.4 kilometers and 3.9 kilometers are also great fun, especially for those who like to run up and downhill. And finally, the longest mountain stage over 6 kilometers with 340 meters of altitude difference from Oberägeri to Raten awaits all mountain runners and cyclists. For one or the other, the aim is to defend their podium place in the overall standings or to tackle it again at full throttle.
Just as Heidi Müller should not only be the winner of the altitude challenge but also of the kilometer classification, the Siemens team will win the company classification and the Höllgrotten Harriers the club classification. On Friday, October 4 at 6 p.m. it will be clear.
