First Trophy kilometers in the legs
A run at sunset - is there anything better?
Last week, over 120 men and women completed their first kilometers of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy. A pleasing start balance.
The "pre-start" is considered the warm-up lap for the 2026 Trophy season. It corresponds to the middle lap of the Zug stage, which starts at the Herti athletics stadium and runs for 6.7 kilometers along the lake and the old and new Lorze rivers. In the first seven days since the start on Saturday, 21 February 2026, the organizers have counted over 250 times, run or walked by around 120 participants - record-breaking numbers! You might assume that all athletes have two laps in their legs. But that's not the case - the front-runners already have over ten starts under their belts! Thanks to the spring-like weather!
Digital timekeeping goes live at
The figures show that participants are getting on well with digital timekeeping. The legendary timing devices, which were used for analog time recording via stamp cards, will no longer be used for the regular Trophy stages. After 21 years of use, they proved to be prone to errors and were often broken. It is therefore all the more pleasing that the participants will be able to find one that suits them among the four different digital time recording options.
