Exercise knows no age limit

Current stage finish on the rate - the Trophy 2021 ends on October 1.

The last stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy has been running for 10 days. It shows once again that the Trophy motivates exercise enthusiasts of all ages.

During the first few days of the stages in the Aegeri Valley, the average age of participants was 50 on the short route, 55 on the medium stage and 52 on the long stage. At 89, the oldest participant is Werner Bleicher from Baar. The sprightly pensioner has already made nine starts in this year's Trophy. Hans-Peter Büchler, born in 1945, is also one of the sprightly pensioners and the leader of the multi-starter Trophy. The Zug native has already started 250 times this year and collected over 1,260 kilometers in the process. Also of retirement age is Robert Scherer, who leads the altitude challenge with almost 34,000 meters.

Note on the Ägeriseerunde

If you want to be included in the overall ranking for the long stage, you must plan your run for one of the next two weekends. Due to forestry work, the route around Lake Aegeri must be closed on weekdays. The stage can therefore only be run from Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19 and from Friday, September 24 to Sunday, September 26. On the two Fridays, the route will be open from 5 pm. Obstacles on the route must be expected, as the route will not be fully repaired until after the stage has finished.

Construction site at the start

Caution is also advised in the start area of the beautiful Mountain Trophy route from Oberägeri to Raten. There is a construction site with traffic lights directly at the start. Starting cyclists are requested to align their start with the light phases of the traffic lights. The rules of the Road Traffic Act apply. Participants are obliged to give way to agricultural traffic and to give way in the event of an overtaking maneuver or oncoming traffic.
