Orienteering, running and cycling routes - the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy 2022 ends this Friday at 6 pm

The Zugerberg Finanz Trophy takes its winter break the day after tomorrow. Even before the end, it's time to take stock: It was one of the most successful editions to date.

It is the number of times recorded that is one of the most meaningful currencies for the organizers. One recorded time corresponds to one participation, and there should be more than last year's 12,900 by the day after tomorrow. In 2022, one participant took part an average of ten times. Last year, there were more people on the ranking list, but they only took part eight times on average.

This year's record participant, Daniel Etter from Menzingen, drove up the average number of participations. In his more than 370 Trophy starts to date, he has covered no less than 100,000 meters in altitude and over 1,700 kilometers. Etter has thus crowned himself the king of the Trophy. Marit Seidel, also from Menzingen, and Heidi Müller from Unterägeri are in a tough neck-and-neck race for the other two podium places. We will not be announcing the winners of the silver and bronze medals until Friday evening. With the two leaders Etter and Seidel, Veloclub Menzingen wins the overall classification of the clubs. After three victorious years, the Höllgrotten Harriers have to admit defeat again for the first time. Without an exploit by the currently fourth-placed Swiss Lauftreff Cham, the bronze medal goes to the Cham running group.

Once again, the weather was kind to the Zug runners. Pleasant temperatures and dry weather accompany the last Trophy days of 2022 - ideal for the final spurt, as the legendary timing devices are sent into their winter break on Friday, October 7 at 6 pm. The starting signal for the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy 2023 will be given on Saturday, March 25 in Steinhausen and Auw.
