"I know the canton of Zug inside out"

Although Fabienne Bélanger is familiar with all the routes that make up the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy, last week was the first time she had competed in this format.

Endurance sport is her great passion. Whether on a racing bike or jogging, Fabienne Bélanger has been on pretty much every cycling and hiking trail in the canton of Zug.

She knows all about the product she is marketing, as Fabienne Bélanger has been working as Digital Marketing Manager at Zug Tourism since the beginning of this year. "The canton of Zug is an incredibly beautiful place and has so much to offer. Every time I go cycling or jogging, I'm amazed at how beautiful it is here," says the native of Valais, who lived in Scotland from 2003 to 2014. Even though she knows all the trails, last week was her first time at the Zugerberg Finance Trophy and she is thrilled: "As an outdoor fan, I naturally support projects that motivate others to get out and about in our beautiful natural surroundings."

Blessed with the "endurance gene"
In addition to her part-time job at Zug Tourism, Fabienne is creatively active with her agency "enne Bélanger". She supports her clients with branding, design, content and photography. "This variety is fun and I appreciate the flexibility it offers me. After all, I also want to spend enough time with my family and be able to exercise regularly." Speaking of exercise, Fabienne comes from a family of cross-country skiers. This is probably why she has special "endurance genes", as she occasionally runs a marathon without specifically preparing for it. "This year, my husband and I took part in the marathon in Paris. A fantastic experience! Just like last year in Berlin, when I was at the start line with a friend who was running her first marathon. She did it and we celebrated her success together." The time doesn't matter to Fabienne, it's the experience that counts and running with someone is simply twice as much fun.

Change of stage
The current Trophy stages in Zug and from Schmittli to Zugerberg run until next Sunday, September 10, 2023. At the end, the Trophy moves to the Ägeri Valley, where the longest stages await the participants. At 17.2 kilometers, the loop around Lake Aegeri is the longest of the long stages, just as the mountain route from Oberägeri to Raten is the longest mountain route. Depending on your ambitions, you can enjoy - or suffer - for a particularly long time at the end.
