"I'm already running a bit faster."
Jogging is Sabine van der Ende's current favorite sport.
The Zug Cantonal Hospital supports the Zug Trophy as a co-sponsor. As a native of Steinhaus, Sabine van der Ende, Head of Quality Management, knows the Running-Etappe_01 like the back of her hand. The other stages are still on her to-do list.
"Jogging is my favorite sport at the moment. You're extremely flexible in terms of time and location," says Sabine van der Ende. She puts on her running shoes three times a week. She also goes swimming once, when her daughter is also in swimming lessons, and once she does T-Bow, a fitness workout on the balance board.
Getting fit
This amount of training sounds like clear goals. Van der Ende denies this: "With the increased running program, I have completed one or two half marathons. And yes, you get ambitious and want to get faster." However, she doesn't put any pressure on herself, "my sporting goal is more to continue doing a reasonable amount of sport. It keeps you fit and makes you feel better."
Also with the children
Sabine van der Ende has often run the Trophy routes in Steinhauser Wald. Also together with her children. "They also enjoy taking part in the Trophy. They think the stamp at the end is cool." When asked about her Trophy goals, the passionate sportswoman says: "I don't have any specific goals here either. But because I know that my time will be published on the Trophy website, I am of course already running a little faster." She also wanted to try out the other Trophy routes, but due to time constraints she always started at the front door. "But who knows, maybe I'll manage to get to know another stage in the next few years."
