The second-last stage of this year's Zugerberg Finanz Trophy starts next Saturday, August 13, 2022.
In Herti and from Schmittli in Neuägeri to the Zugerberg, it's once again all about fast times, accumulated altitude and kilometers. The short lap of stage 05_Zug measures 2.1 kilometers. Those who complete the medium route run or walk 5.9 kilometers. This leads to Brüggli, along the lake to Choller and on the Cham cycle path back towards Herti. The long stage is really exciting. It leads to Cham through Hirsgarten, along the Lorze via Lorzenpark into Langacker and via Baregg - peppered with a few nice meters of altitude - via Bibersee in the direction of Steinhausen. After a short stretch through the Steinhausen forest down to Blickensdorf and along the Lorze back to the start and finish. These 16.8 kilometers with 170 meters of elevation gain are perfect for training for the Swiss City Half Marathon on 30 October 2022 in Lucerne.
Another great view
290 meters in altitude have to be conquered on the 3.3 km mountain stage from Schmittli to Zugerberg. The path winds its way through the forest, steadily gaining altitude. Once you are over the mountain, you can enjoy the wonderful view of Zug. And that is simply fantastic - especially at sunset.
Will Veloclub Menzingen be able to stay at the top of the club rankings? Or will the Höllgrotten Harriers reclaim their top spot, as the stage in Herti is once again more practical for many of them to reach? And how will the two- or three-way battle in the altitude challenge develop? For Daniel Etter and Marit Seidel, the two leaders from Menzingen, as well as for Heidi Müller, the third-placed runner from Unterägeri, the start in Neuägeri is easy to reach. They are therefore likely to remain neck-and-neck over the next four weeks. And is Philipp Arnold heading for another five category wins? It remains exciting in the rankings of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy 2022.
