It's fun to go all out from time to time
Rolf Lott from Veloclub Hünenberg
Rolf Lott is the "Zuger Trophy route manager" for the mountain stage_02 up to Michaelskreuz. The fun of cycling made him a member of Veloclub Hünenberg in 1993.
Good camaraderie, an exciting annual program, no pressure because everyone joins in as the mood takes them, that's what distinguishes Veloclub Hünenberg, says Rolf Lott and adds: "If you like getting on your bike, you've come to the right place." He himself is now more active in the mountains. Not by bike, but as a mountaineer and on ski tours: "But I still really enjoy cycling." His training program is correspondingly varied. The order planner is active between two and five times a week: "Road biking, biking, hiking, swimming, ski touring and the occasional jog. Whatever is fun at the time."
Trophy pleasure
He also enjoys taking part in the Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy. Every year, he plans to complete all the mountain stages on his bike and racing bike, says Lott, sometimes it works, sometimes not: "The timekeeping encourages you to go all out from time to time, which is also fun. You fight longer when the clock is ticking," admits the athlete from Sins. A group of seven members from Veloclub Hünenberg are on duty to collect and read in the maps on the Michaelskreuz. "This spreads the effort over several shoulders and is easy to manage," says the route manager, summarizing his club's commitment.
Participant workshops
Every year, Trophy participants have the opportunity to gain new insights at free workshops. The Dynamix running technique workshop is already fully booked. There are still places available in the Stöckli bike technique workshop on Wednesday, May 22 and also on the following day, Thursday, May 23, in the Skinfit nutrition workshop with top triathlete Ruedi Wild.
