Kick-off with a track record

By the start weekend, the route up the Horben had already been completed over 130 times.

The pre-start of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy ends with a record number of participants, while Philipp Arnold opens the Steinhausen stage with a course record.

You did it! At the pre-start, 220 participants covered a total of 5,250 kilometers, exceeding the spontaneously set donation target of 5,000 kilometers. Accordingly, CHF 2,500 will go to people in need in Ukraine in the name of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy.
The course record was broken at the pre-start by Sandro Schmid from Adliswil. The 22-year-old athlete trains at LK Zug and shone in his first Trophy participation ahead of second-placed Philipp Arnold. Aya Noyes, a member of the Höllgrotten Harriers, is the fastest of the women.

Starting signal for stage 1

On Saturday, the starting signal was given for the first two "real" stages in Auw and Steinhausen. After finishing second at the pre-start, Philipp Arnold from Cham took the lead in the long 12.3 km stage in Steinhausen Forest with a time of 41:50 min, setting a new course record. He seems to be in good shape for the Zurich Marathon on April 10. This also applies to Doris Nagel-Wallimann. She deliberately ran the same route last Sunday, but at a slower pace: "I'm reducing the intensity of my training from now on. I ran at a relaxed pace and was able to really enjoy my favorite route." On Sunday evening, her name was still at the top of the leaderboard.

In glorious spring weather, the stages in Steinhauser Wald were run almost 100 times on the start weekend. There was also a lot going on in the direction of Horben on Saturday and Sunday. 90 participants covered the 4.8 km and 330 meters in altitude from Auw to Horben over 130 times!
