Last chance before the summer vacation
Stage_04 of the Raiffeisen Zuger-Trophy will continue until next Sunday, July 15. The timing devices will be in Menzingen until then. The finish is at 4 pm. So it's high time to take on the hilly circuit and the tough climb up the Chnollen.
Together with the School Trophy, over 40,000 kilometers have already been collected on this year's Trophy and over 7000 times have been clocked. The Trophy is fun for young and old alike. Excluding the participants in the School Trophy, the average age is 42 years, with the oldest participant being 86 years old and the youngest 4. The men are on the road slightly more often than the women. The proportion of male athletes is 58 percent compared to 42 percent female athletes. And each participant has started around 4.5 times so far. So much for the interesting statistics.
Impressive performances
Behind the bare figures lie strong performances. Philipp Arnold once again broke course records and, as usual, topped several rankings at the end of last week. Walter Eichelberger sets a Nordic walking record on the Chnollen at the age of 77 (!). Thomas Walker continues to rack up an incredible number of kilometers on his home stage. He is the unassailable leader in the ranking of frequent starters. He has already started over 230 times. He has already collected over 1500 kilometers.
Ägeriseelauf in the summer break
The Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy will be taking a summer break from next Sunday until Saturday, August 11. The start of stage_05 will be at the Herti athletics facility and at Schmittli, from where the runners will head up the Zugerberg. However, runners from Zug should not hang up their sports shoes in the shade just yet. The 20th Ägeriseelauf will take place on Friday evening, July 20. The 14.1 kilometers around Lake Aegeri will show what the Trophy training has achieved.
