Monday morning is perfect for a walking tour
Slightly reduced due to spring vacation: The TSV Concordia walking group on "their" stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy.
The members of TSV Concordia Baar have been organizing the second stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy for years. And they actively take part, including the walking group led by Carmen Gysi.
Alongside floorball, volleyball and fitness, the walking group is one of many adult sports groups at TSV Concordia. "Instead of jogging breathlessly, we march briskly. Gentle on the joints. For all ages," says the club's website. Around a dozen walkers meet every Monday morning under this motto. "We are currently only women, but men are of course also welcome," says Carmen Gysi, who has been leading the group for two years. "Even though we are a constant group and some have been walking for over 20 years, we would be delighted to welcome new walkers."
The group meets at 9 a.m. in the Lättich near the football clubhouse. After a warm-up, there is a new round every Monday. Carmen Gysi knows the area so well by now that it always works out and they are back after 90 minutes. "While the Trophy is on in Baar, we make an exception. We now meet at 8.45 a.m. directly at the timing device at the start and complete the middle lap." Anyone who would like to join the group is very welcome on May 9 or 16. Of course, you can also decide later and then join in once from the Lättich meeting point. "Monday mornings are perfect for walking or outdoor sports in general," says Carmen Gysi, "we've never walked in the rain on our route for over a year. Snow yes, but we haven't actually needed an umbrella for ages."
Women who want to take things a little faster can still join the Trophy running course for beginners. You can choose between two time slots for the free training sessions from May to June 15: Tuesday mornings at 8am or Wednesday evenings at 7pm, lasting 60-90 minutes.
