No summer break for once
Philipp Arnold from Cham, here at the Ägeriseelauf on July 19, 2024, is leading several Trophy categories again this year.
This year, sports enthusiasts can collect kilometers throughout the summer at the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy. The race for a place on the official ranking list starts again on Saturday, August 10.
This is the 20th running of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy. Due to this milestone birthday, this year the routes will be open throughout the entire duration of the event from the end of March to the beginning of October. However, if you want to make a name for yourself with a best time, you have to start in the official stage window. Four of the six official stages are already behind us. So it's worth taking a look at the names of the fastest participants. For the female runners, it's Céline Osborn-Smith over the short distance, albeit with a lead of just 75 seconds over second-placed Lara Meyer. Doris Nagel-Wallimann leads over the medium distance and Ronja Hofstetter from Ballwil over the long distance. One of the fastest men is once again Philipp Arnold. He is 48 seconds ahead of Daniel Müller over the short distance and also leads over the long distance. Michal Grabowski is the leader in the middle distance.
Arnold also strong on the bike
On the bike, the participants in the road bike and mountain bike categories are engaged in close duels. On the road bike, John Whittington leads by just under two minutes ahead of Bruno Reis from Malters. Claudia Sutter is once again the fastest woman. Philipp Arnold is also currently in the best shape on his MTB. However, his lead over Benno Sidler is just 43 seconds. Eveline Villiger, on the other hand, has won the category, provided she also tackles the last two stages. Her cushion over the runner-up is a whopping 44 minutes!
Heidi Müller is also on course for victory, as she continues to diligently collect altitude meters and currently has a lead of over 15,000 altitude meters. She is now also ahead in the kilometer competition. However, Cielo Arnold, Sarah Paul and Kathryn Watson are still hot on her heels. It will be difficult for Zugerberg Finanz AG to catch up with the Siemens team in the club ranking.
On Saturday, August 10, the stages start in Zug (Herti) and from Schmittli to Zugerberg.
