Over 100 starts in one day
Janina Wüst has been competing since 2020 and has been winning regularly ever since.
Last Sunday, the mountain and circuit stages in Menzingen ended with a brilliant final sprint. Well-known names are at the top of the rankings.
On Sunday, July 17, no fewer than 108 times were recorded. This means that there were a total of 108 starts on the short, medium, long and mountain courses that day! There were already 85 starts the day before. Everyone who wanted to improve their time or even improve their ranking had to "do it" on both days. And the weather played along, there was always a reasonably cool breeze, so that the athletes were able to meet their targets without getting too hot.
Philipp Arnold once again won the short and medium distances, the latter with a new course record. Stefan Bossert from Rotkreuz came second twice. Bossert beats Arnold over the 14-kilometer course. In the overall rankings for all four stage windows to date, Arnold is ahead of Bossert at all distances. Andrina Lustenberger wins again in the women's short, Kerstin Dusch in the medium and Doris Nagel-Wallimann is the fastest on the long with a new course record. Lustenberger and Nagel-Wallimann also lead the overall rankings. Joëlle Berg leads the middle distance, 75 seconds ahead of Kerstin Dusch.
Chnollen record
With 1184 starts, the mountain section on the Chnollen is by far the most completed stage. A great participation record, which is due to the attractive prizes of the altitude challenge. The fastest runner here was also Philipp Arnold, with Stefan Bossert in second place. The fastest female runner was Maria Gerber. Benno Sidler won the mountain bike category with a six-second lead over Arnold. Janina Wüst once again wins this category by a wide margin. Kevin Zürcher is again the fastest on a racing bike, as is Claudia Sutter in the women's category. These are also the names that lead the overall rankings. The only exception is Benno Sidler, who is behind Arnold in the overall rankings.
