Over 2,670 starts on the first stage

The stages in Baar and from Root to Michaelskreuz have been running since Monday
The second stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy started in Baar and Root on Monday. The first stage ended with great numbers of participants.

Over the last four weeks, over 1,470 times were recorded in the Steinhauser Wald forest on the short, medium, long and orienteering courses. The Trophy participants covered an incredible 10,800 kilometers and a good 157,900 meters of altitude. The mountain route from Auw to Horben was also popular. Over 340 athletes took on the 4.8-kilometre route 1,200 times. That makes 396,000 meters in altitude!

Arnold once again top
The ranking list includes many new names, but also some familiar ones. One in particular stands out again this year. Philipp Arnold from Cham is once again in top form. In addition to his strong times at the Trophy, he ran the Zurich Marathon on April 10, 2022 in a new personal best time of 2:31:27 h (3:35 min/km). On the first stage of the Trophy, he placed first or second in almost all categories. He improved his own course record by four seconds to 41:50 minutes on the 12.3 kilometer course in Steinhauser Wald. Frederik Staal also set a new course record on the middle distance. He thus wins the category ahead of Arnold. Philipp Arnold also came second over the short distance, only Stefan Bossert from Rotkreuz was faster. The fastest women were Andrina Lustenberger (short), Seline Stalder (medium) and Myriam Abächerli-Keiser (long).

Janina Wüst triumphed on the mountain bike. She improved her course record on the Horben by 15 seconds, while Philipp Arnold was also the fastest man in this category. As last year, Kevin Zürcher and Claudia Sutter were unbeatable on the road bike. There is a new name at the top of the mountain runners; Andreas Schindler from Aesch LU won ahead of Arnold in his first Trophy participation. Manuela Keiser from Unterägeri was the fastest mountain runner.
