Record on the Zugerberg - Now in Menzingen

The Zug - Zugerberg stage ended on Sunday with a record. Since Monday, participants in the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy in Menzingen have been collecting kilos and altitude meters.

Athletes have conquered the route from Schönegg to Zugerberg 834 times. The previous record was 459 participants. "We are overwhelmed," says Sara Hübscher from Team Advantage, which is in charge of the route. "Especially because the route was closed for two days after the storm last Wednesday evening." The fastest were Denise Sternlicht and Tobias Renggli (mountain run), Eveline Villiger and Philipp Arnold (mountain bike) and Claudia Sutter and Kevin Zürcher (road bike).

Home advantage used

Daniel Föllmi, member of the Cham running group and responsible for the 03_Ennetsee stage, is also satisfied: "Everything went smoothly. As always, the running greeters recorded the times reliably." There was no way around Doris Nagel-Wallimann from Hünenberg and Philipp Arnold from Cham. They made the most of their home advantage and won the short, medium and long distances.

Now in Menzingen
The timing devices are now in Menzingen. The Menzingen Cycling Club is in charge of both stages of the Running and Mountain Trophy. Karl Röllin from VC Menzingen is delighted that the Trophy is stopping off in Menzingen. "This way we can show all sports enthusiasts the beautiful side of Menzingen. Our landscape is unique," enthuses Röllin and adds: "The varied route of the Running Trophy, in the middle of a fantastic moraine landscape and high up to the Gubel, is a scenic delight." The short loop measures 3.6 km and 60 meters in altitude, the medium 8.1 km with 170 meters in altitude and the long 14 km with 260 meters in altitude. The mountain route up the Chnollen covers 3.4 kilometers with 210 meters of altitude.
