Restarted with great vigor
On the first weekend of stage 5, the organizers have already recorded over 170 entries.
Last Saturday, August 12, 2023, the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy entered its fifth stage. Despite high temperatures, a lot of kilometers have already been collected.
The Zugerberg Finanz Trophy recorded 170 starts on the first weekend after the summer vacations, despite the sweaty temperatures. Heidi Müller from Unterägeri used the opening weekend to take the lead in the altitude challenge. Daniel Etter from Menzingen remains at the top of the kilometer ranking, as does Partners Group in the company ranking and Veloclub Menzingen in the club ranking.
The Trophy circuits currently start at the athletics facility in Herti. The short route measures 2.1 kilometers, the medium route 5.9 kilometers and the long route 16.8 kilometers. So there is a suitable lap for every fitness level - after all, it's the participation that counts, not the pace.
40 years of Zuger Lauftreff
Mattias Derungs from Zuger Lauftreff is responsible for this stage. His club welcomes all running enthusiasts and anyone who would like to become one. Because here, too, it's not just sporting success that counts, but above all moving together. Training takes place on Tuesday evenings at 6.15 p.m. in six groups, which also meet at the Herti athletics facility. The level ranges from group 1, which runs at a pace of 4.45 to 5.30 minutes per kilometer and runs for around 90 minutes or longer, to group 5, where beginners and leisure runners meet for a training session of around 45 minutes. Group 6 runs for a good hour.
This year, the Zuger Lauftreff is celebrating its 40th birthday with a special anniversary event. It will be a social occasion - like the annual season-opening aperitif or the summer barbecue. This is just as important to the club members as running laps together.
The running club is currently in 6th place in the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy club rankings. Now, with the advantage of the home stage, a few more kilometers should be added over the next four weeks.
