"Running is the perfect way to relax"
Melanie Kessler likes to run for active recreation. If the opportunity arises, she is also overcome with Crossfit passion in the forest.
"Running is the perfect way to relax."
Crossfit is Melanie Kessler's great passion and from now on the Trophy routes are once again part of her active recovery program.
If it's your first time in a Crossfit group, you won't understand a thing. After a few training sessions, you can join in with Murph, Fran, Holleyman or Lumberjack 20, even if you are still a long way from performing the exercises "RX", i.e. at the highest level. "Crossfit is very varied and therefore a lot of fun," says Melanie, who discovered her love of the sport in 2016. At the time, a friend advised her to try this sport instead of always going to a "normal" gym. Today, Melanie Kessler trains five times a week. "Working out and being amazed at what your body is capable of is what fascinates me about Crossfit." Melanie never misses a workout, not even after an early shift as a pastry chef, for which her alarm clock rings at 3:00 am. "Sometimes I feel a bit tired after work, but as soon as I get on the mat, I'm full of energy and look forward to training."
First international competition
Melanie discovered the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy in 2015. Since then, the Rotkreuz native has taken part regularly and completed all the long stages for the first time last year. She usually finishes towards the end of the rankings. For her, the experience in nature comes first. "The Trophy routes are all beautiful and I love the exercise in nature. We often walk in pairs, chat and take it easy." Her first participation in an international Crossfit competition shows how well this kind of regeneration suits her. "The Malta Throwdown" will take place in June 2022. Only 30 crossfitters from all over the world can take part in each category. Melanie Kessler secured her ticket to Malta by qualifying in 25th place. "I'm really looking forward to the competition. A nice reward for the many hours of training."
