1st mountain stage: those who climb the Horben are rewarded with a fantastic view.
On Saturday, March 26, 2022, the Zugerberg Finance Season officially starts its 18th season. Participants can expect beautiful and sometimes challenging routes in Steinhausen and Auw.
The participants have already shown at the pre-start that they are hungry for Trophy kilometers. From Saturday, two stages will run simultaneously. On the one hand, the circular route with start and finish at the same location and a choice of short, medium or long route lengths. On the other hand, at a different location, the mountain route with start in A and finish in B, with 210 to 380 vertical meters in between.
Stage 01_Steinhausen
The beautiful circular routes and in the Steinhausen forest measure 2.8 km, 8.4 km and 12.3 km. Reto Schorta from TV Steinhausen Allsport, who is in charge of the stage, enthuses: "The winding routes impress with their views and a pleasant mix of field and forest paths." Steinhausen is the most popular of the long stages. It has by far the most starts.
Rewarded with a view
Those who prefer a more challenging profile can start on the mountain route from Auw to Horben. "Our stage is characterized by a climb with many changes of rhythm and two crisp ramps. The last section is flat and offers a wonderful view over the Reuss Valley and into the Alps," says Andi Amstutz from the Pauwerbikers, who is responsible for the stage. Over a distance of 4.8 km, there are 330 meters of altitude to overcome, on foot or on two wheels.
Start of the altitude challenge
Those who are diligent on the road will soon be among the winners of the altitude challenge. Anyone who completes 2,000 vertical meters will receive a Trophy Bidon from Zugerberg Finanz. Those who continue and climb 4,000 meters in altitude will receive cool socks and those who even manage 8,000 will be rewarded with an exclusive Trophy shirt.
