Stage change at the weekend
From Monday, the Trophy finish will be called Zugerberg, now with the start at the Ägeristrasse/Weinbergstrasse junction.
The two stages in Baar and on the Michel will end on Sunday, May 22. From Monday, the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy will make a guest appearance in Ennetsee. At the same time, there will be a premiere on the Zugerberg.
Trail fans will get their money's worth on the Baar stage. But another four weeks have already passed and the Trophy is moving on. From Monday, May 23, the timing device will be at the Hünenberger Badi and anyone who likes fast asphalt will be delighted. The three laps cover 2.2 km, 5.1 km and 14 km. "The routes along Lake Zug are very varied. On the long lap, you have to conquer a whopping 190 meters of altitude," says Daniel Föllmi, member of the Cham running group and stage organizer.
New route on the Zugerberg
This year, the 3rd mountain stage does not lead from Schönegg to the Zugerberg as usual. Due to work on the route of the Zugerbergbahn, this year's route leads via Rötel, Verenakapelle and Blasenberg to the Zugerberg. The start is at the Ägeristrasse/Weinbergstrasse junction. This route is a little longer at 5.8 kilometers, but the 450 meters of altitude difference are distributed accordingly. Team Advantage, the Zug endurance sports club, is in charge of the stage. "We are convinced that the temporary route will attract just as many athletes as the traditional route did last year," says Sara Hübscher from Team Advantage.
Classic on Global Running Day
The Zugerberg will also take center stage on Wednesday, June 1, Global Running Day. The starting signal for the Zugerberg Finanz Classic, the traditional mountain run with an additional loop through the old town, will be given at 18:45 on the Landsgemeindeplatz. 6.8 kilometers and 543 meters of elevation gain lie between the start and finish at the Institut Montana on the Zugerberg.
