Stage change: from Monday in Baar and Root
On Monday, the stages start in Baar and from Root on the "Michel".
The stages in Steinhausen and on the Horben will end next Sunday at 4 pm. The race continues from Monday, April 24, 2023, in Baar and Root.
If you want to be included in one or more of the overall rankings, you should lace up your shoes or saddle up your bike now. The first stages end next Sunday. A place in the overall rankings means that you have completed all six stages in a category, for example all the long running stages or all the mountain stages on a racing bike.
The circuits in Baar are ideal for working your way up in the altitude challenge. The short, 2.7-kilometre circuit has 90 meters of elevation gain, the medium circuit has 6.9 kilometers and 210 meters of elevation gain and the long circuit has 400 meters of elevation gain over 15.3 kilometers. These circuits are extremely varied: forest paths, steps, asphalt, single trails - it's great fun.
Those who like to treat themselves to a refreshment after the sport should definitely plan a lap on Friday, April 28, to stop by the Baar brewery, the stage sponsor, between 4 and 6 pm. The "Baarer Bier alkoholfrei" is not only just the right thing after sport on Swiss Beer Day, but with a traditional supporting program on the Braui site, it tastes twice as good.
Separate running route
The mountain stage from Root up to Michaelskreuz involves overcoming 340 meters of altitude over 3.7 kilometers. The stage impresses with a very beautiful, selective mountain route, which is appreciated and ridden by many cyclists. The view at the highest point is a reward for the effort made. The runners follow a separate route away from the road; after a flat start, the profile includes some steep climbs, but the route is somewhat shorter at 3.4 kilometers.
Sporting inspiration
If you want to discover and try out something new, we recommend a visit to the ZugSPORTS Festival. From May 5 to 20, 2023, there will be breathtaking shows and exciting activities in the Metalli. Take part or relax, both are possible thanks to the new Zug Sports Lounge with a perfect view of the stage.
