Pascale Giaimo and Pirmin Suter at the finish of their Sunday Trophy round

After the four-week summer break, the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy started again last Saturday. Pascale Giaimo and Pirmin Suter were also back on the road.

They meet up every Sunday morning to go for a leisurely jog together: Pascale Giaimo from Cham and Pirmin Suter from Baar. They met years ago in the Cham running group, and although Pirmin is no longer a member, he still enjoys running, "just less fast and no longer with a structured training plan," he adds with a grin. For both of them, the enjoyment and pleasure of exercise is paramount. "We definitely want to keep at it, because as we get older it's important to exercise as regularly and in a variety of ways as possible," says Pascale, who also works in sport and exercise.

With us since 2009
Pascale and Pirmin normally run their Sunday rounds as a threesome. Adrian Krahn, also a member of the Cham running group, is absent this time due to illness, but is otherwise an active Trophy runner. "Thanks to him, I discovered new Trophy routes again. I even completed two orienteering events and the mountain routes on the Horben and Michaelskreuz with him this year," says Pirmin, who has regularly completed one stage or another since 2009. Pascale's first participation also dates back to 2009. In the current season, she has completed almost all running stages, including orienteering, at least once.

The two 53-year-olds also occasionally take part in competitions, especially those with a high adventure factor and sometimes without timekeeping. Pascale completed the Zermatt half marathon at the beginning of July and Pirmin has registered again for the Mattmark half marathon on September 10 in the Saas Valley, and for the first time in the Fun category. "That way I have the race feeling, but can still fully enjoy the fantastic scenery."
