Sunny finale in Menzingen
Several course records were broken again in Menzingen. Last Sunday, the Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy bid farewell to the summer break.
The beautiful weather on the last day of the stage once again motivated people to take part. The organizers draw a positive balance and are pleased that numerous exercise enthusiasts have found their way to Menzingen over the last four weeks. With almost 900 starters on the last stage, the Zuger-Trophy is taking its summer break until August 8.
Racing bike and running records
Kevin Zürcher wins the mountain stage on a racing bike in a time of 8'25'' minutes, setting a new record for the 3.4 kilometers with 210 meters of elevation gain. Heidi Müller is the fastest of the women. After 2nd place on the Zugerberg, mountain biker Eveline Villiger wins in Menzingen. The men's winner is Marco Hersche. The fastest female mountain runner is Olivia Waser for the first time. Philipp Arnold is once again the fastest man.
Two dominate
There is also no way around Philipp Arnold from Cham in the Running Trophy. He wins all three distances and improves his own course record on the short, 3.4-kilometer lap by 12 seconds to 11'30'' minutes. Doris Nagel-Wallimann improved the women's course record over all three distances. She completed the short one in 13'42'' minutes, the medium 8.1-kilometre course in 32'48'' minutes and the 14-kilometre course with 260 meters of elevation gain took her just 59'37'' minutes. This puts her almost five minutes under the previous record time.
Frequent starter and club trophy
The lone leader among the frequent starters is Maja Dietrich. By last Sunday evening, she had clocked up an incredible 162 starts and around 950 kilometers on her Trophy account. The Höllgrotten Harriers are equally lonely leaders in the club Trophy with around 3,900 kilometers. The hunt for kilometers and best times continues in four weeks' time.
