Team Advantage: a lot going on with the stage managers
Team Advantage also took part in the Zugerberg Finanz Classic with seven members.
The next stage change is coming up next Sunday and the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy moves to the Zug Highlands. This marks the end of an eventful competition phase for Team Advantage.
Team Advantage has been managing the stage from Zug to the Zugerberg since 2021. Two Zug sporting highlights take place during each of these four weeks: the Zytturm Triathlon and the Zugerberg Finanz Classic. The triathlon in particular is highlighted in the endurance sports club's annual program. Almost half of the approximately 100 members were at the start on the weekend of June 3-4, whether as part of a relay team or as individual athletes. Many of them were successful and the team was delighted with four category victories and nine podium places on Sunday afternoon. Reto Benz, the initiator and project manager of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy, was also among the category winners.
After a short recovery period, a seven-strong Team Advantage group lined up at the starting line of the Zugerberg Finanz Classic on Wednesday, June 7, the "Global Running Day". Those who had already exhausted themselves on Sunday suffered accordingly on the 6.6 kilometers and 540 vertical meters from Zug to the Zugerberg ... The two events were followed last Monday by the joint training run on "their" stage from Zug via Verenakapelle to the Zugerberg. "Of course, the 'real' competitions take center stage. So I'm all the more pleased that we're also doing a joint running training session on the Trophy," says stage manager Sara Hübscher.
Over the Gubel
From Monday, June 19, the Trophy will make a guest appearance in the Zug Highlands. The timing devices will be in Menzingen until Sunday, July 16, 2023. The start is at the Hasental farm. The short route is a leisurely 3.6 km loop with 60 meters of elevation gain. On the medium route, the steep climb up to the Gubel awaits. This is 8.1 km and 170 meters in altitude, and the long route takes you to Finstersee and back via the Gubel, which is 14 km and 260 meters in altitude. The mountain route also starts in the Hasental valley and ends after 3.4 km and 210 meters in altitude on the Chnollen. Karl Röllin, stage leader and member of Veloclub Menzingen, describes "his" stage as varied and a "scenic delight with far-reaching views".
