The joy of cycling on the Zugerberg
The Baar-Zug Veloclub is looking forward to starting training again.
The Baar-Zug Veloclub (VC) is in charge of the current mountain stage from Zug to the Zugerberg. The club is celebrating its 111th anniversary this year.
As no stamp cards can be scanned at the moment, most participants start with their smartphone. Those who are not happy with this can send in their results via a web form. Instead of stamp cards, the members of the Baar-Zug cycling club record the digitally transmitted running and cycling times. The club has been supporting the stage organization for several years.
Promoting young talent
The club is already in its 111th year. A real traditional club. However, the promotion of cycling is still the main objective today. The extra money that flows into the club's coffers through its involvement in the Zuger Trophy is used to support young cyclists. Children as young as 8 years old train to emulate their role model Nicola Rohrbach. The Zug mountain bike pro has already achieved several top ten places.
For young and old
The association also offers mountain bike and racing bike fans repair courses and training camps, among other things. For Board President Ivo Hunn, it is important that as many people as possible take part. The little ones in particular should discover their love of cycling. "And if the parents also enjoy it, it's perfect," says Hunn. The Raiffeisen Zug Trophy also promotes an active lifestyle. "The Trophy is a good thing for all sports enthusiasts. Everyone can find something suitable for them."
No training sessions for the time being
VC would also like to resume its training operations. However, the mandatory measures of the protection concept drawn up by Swiss Cycling are massive. It is therefore with a heavy heart that the club has decided to cancel all training sessions and events until the end of the summer vacations (August 16, 2020).
