Ronja Hofstetter runs to a sensational 2nd place (overall and age group) at this year's Baldeggerseelauf.
The canton of Zug is a paradise for exercise enthusiasts and those who want to become one. Public infrastructure and nature provide the perfect playing field. Ronja Hofstetter, who discovered the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy this year, also likes this.
And how the Ballwiler discovered the Trophy! With a running pace of 4 min/km, she is the fastest woman on the long stage in Menzingen, Ennetsee and also on the current stage in Zug. But she has only been running since corona and "really just for fun", as she says. Her passion is gymnastics. She has been a member of STV Ballwil, where she also lives, for 15 years. Ronja Hofstetter became aware of the Trophy through her employer Johnson & Johnson, which has supported the Trophy for years. "There were flyers in our gym. I wanted to take the opportunity to discover new routes and so I made my way to the first stage in Steinhausen." She has enjoyed this stage the most so far.
Ronja is enthusiastic: "I really like the fact that you can do the stages when, where and how far you want. The different lengths and altitude profiles of the routes mean that there is something for everyone and can be tailored to suit individual preferences." In addition to gymnastics and running, Ronja Hofstetter also plays football. In general, she loves trying out new sports, whether boxing, swimming or cycling, but: "I also enjoy simply going for a walk or a hike with our two dogs." For an exercise enthusiast like Ronja, the canton of Zug generally has a lot to offer, she says: "The numerous options such as the Trophy, the outdoor gym in Herti or the pleasant cycle paths that invite you to exercise in everyday life are super cool."
The current circuits starting in Herti and the mountain stage from Schmittli to Zugerberg will run until Sunday, September 8, before the final stages start in Ägerital. All details can be found at zugerbergfinanz-trophy.ch.
