The Trophy makes a guest appearance in the Aegeri Valley

The circuit around Lake Aegeri is and remains a gem.

Last Sunday, the Menzingen stage came to an end. The running stage 06_Ägerital and the mountain stage 06_Oberägeri-Raten will now run until October 4, 2019.

The final weekend in Menzingen was a rather gloomy one. However, this did not prevent the Trophy cracks from once again delivering their best performances and setting course records on the asphalt. Once again, Philipp Arnold from Cham won five of the six categories. The women's Running Trophy winners were Andrina Lustenberger (short), Joanna Murphy (medium) and Rita Wicki (long). In the Mountain Trophy, Conny Odermatt won the running competition with a new course record, Andrea Lauffer won the road bike category and Eveline Villiger improved her own course record on her mountain bike. Kevin Zürcher secured victory, which did not go to Philipp Arnold. Zürcher was the fastest racing cyclist.

Finish in Ägerital
For many, it is the crowning glory of the Trophy season: the 17.2 kilometers around Lake Ägeri. The route is indeed a dream on a beautiful fall day. Bruno Schuler, stage organizer and OC president of the Ägeriseelauf, agrees: "Our stage offers a varied profile on the short and middle sections with lots of crisp passages on different surfaces. And the long route around the lake is and remains a gem."

Longest mountain stage
Roland Müller, a member of Veloclub Ägeri, is responsible for the maintenance of the Mountain Trophy and characterizes the route as follows: "After an initial climb, there is a rather flatter middle section, and at the end there's another opportunity to go all out on the crisp climb in the last kilometer. You are rewarded for your efforts with a magnificent view of the Raten region and the Aegeri valley." At six kilometers, the route from Oberägeri up the Raten is by far the longest mountain route. And therefore a worthy final stage for the Mountain Trophy.
