Themed runs and socializing

The Zug Running Club is at home at the current Running Trophy location. Every Tuesday, around 35 running enthusiasts meet at Herti to train together. This is organized by Adrian Baumgartner as site manager together with his team of leaders.
On 18 September 1993, the newspaper wrote the following about the Zug running club: "For ten years, the Zug running club enthusiasts have been out and about and have covered many a kilometer together on countless Tuesday evenings." They are still doing so today, 35 years after the club was founded. Adrian Baumgartner has been loyal to the running club - with a few interruptions - for a good 30 years: "First as a runner, of course, later as a leader and at some point I was asked if I would like to take over as site manager." The running club is affiliated with the Leichtathletik Klub Zug (LKZ).
More variety
The Zug running club now offers more variety in its training sessions. There are still five performance groups plus two walking groups, but a look at the annual program shows that running school, mountain runs and interval training are also on the agenda on Tuesday evenings. "We've been doing themed runs for around three years," explains Baumgartner, "so we sometimes go to Menzingen and run the Zug Trophy together." Another highlight in this context was an art tour, during which they ran from artwork to artwork and enjoyed a drink in the Kunsthaus at the end, says Adrian Baumgartner enthusiastically.
Cultivating sociability
Baumgartner explains that in addition to the Tuesday training sessions throughout the year, the Zug running club also organizes three social events: "In spring, we kick off the season with an opening aperitif. After the summer vacations, we sit together at a cozy barbecue and in December, Santa Claus comes by". The ideal mix for sports enthusiasts.
