Triathlon and mountain run - two sporting highlights within five days
Next weekend, the 29th Zytturm Triathlon in Zug will once again feature swimming, running and cycling. And next Wednesday, June 7, the starting shot will be fired for the 27th edition of the Zugerberg Finanz Classic, the mountain run from Zug up the Zugerberg.
Since the end of March, the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy has offered the ideal opportunity to prepare for an official race. Now two highlights are coming up within the next week. The Zytturm Triathlon - a fixed date in the seasonal calendar in the local scene - will take place earlier than usual this year due to the clash of dates with the Swiss Yodelling Festival. On Saturday, June 3, the terrain will mainly belong to the youngsters, on Sunday, June 4, the starting signal for the Swiss Duathlon Championship (run/bike/run) will be given at 8 a.m., from 8:25 a.m. the participants will start over the Olympic distance before those over the short distance start at 9:15 a.m.. Last-minute participants can still register on site.
Mountain running on Global Running Day
Running is fun - this is the message of Global Running Day, which is celebrated on the first Wednesday in June. Running as part of an event such as the Zugerberg Finanz Classic underlines this fun factor. This is precisely why you can also start in Zug in the "Run for Fun" category with timekeeping but without ranking. Even those who fight for every second in the "Rock the Hill" category on the 6.6 kilometers and 540 meters of altitude will be filled with happiness hormones at the finish line, thanks to the magnificent view. It's definitely worth taking part, and all starters receive a finisher's gift. Last-minute participants can register up to half an hour before the start at 7 pm on the Landsgemeindeplatz.
Speaking of a finisher's gift, the altitude meters on 7 June also count towards the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy altitude meter challenge. This challenge rewards those who collect altitude meters on the Trophy stages, regardless of their pace. And the Zugerberg is also the focus of the current mountain stage. In contrast to the race on June 7, the Trophy route leads up the Zugerberg via Blasenbergstrasse.
