Zugerberg Finance Trophy bids farewell to the summer break
The stages in Menzingen ended last Sunday. Ten of the twelve category winners also lead the overall classification.
Once again, there is no way around Philipp Arnold from Cham on the running courses. He won all three distances of the Running Trophy and was the fastest in the mountain run up to Chnollen. In these four overall rankings, Arnold stands at the top of the podium after four of the six stages.
The fastest female runners
In the women's race, there is a different winner for each distance: Andrina Lustenberger from Sattel is the winner of the short distance (3.6 km). She also leads the overall classification over this distance. Joëlle Berger from Lucerne won the 8.4-kilometer middle stage. Despite this best time, she is currently in third place overall behind Seline Stalder and Kerstin Dusch. Doris Nagel-Wallimann improves her own course record over the long distance of 14 kilometers by almost one and a half minutes. In the overall standings, the runner from Hünenberg See is already more than half an hour ahead of second-placed Joanna Murphy.
Head-to-head race
The fastest mountain runner is Olivia Waser from Einsiedeln. She has also completed all the stages so far and leads the overall mountain running classification. Marco Hersche is the fastest mountain biker. He is just 16 seconds behind Philipp Arnold in second place in the overall classification. Eveline Villiger wins the women's race. Only two female mountain bikers have ridden all four stages; Villiger and second-placed Martina Arnold. Five female cyclists have completed all stages by road bike. The fastest of them is Claudia Sutter from Lucerne, who also won in Menzingen. That leaves the fastest racing cyclist. That is Kevin Zürcher from Zug. He beat the old course record in Menzingen by 14 seconds and is 1:46 minutes ahead of Philipp Arnold in the overall classification.
The 5th stage starts on Saturday, August 7.
