Almost 50,000 kilometers

The Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy still has just under three weeks to go. So far, around 8,500 times have been registered and a good 50,000 kilometers have been walked, run or cycled.

The statistics do not indicate a new participation record after the 2017 edition. The temperatures were probably too high too often for that. Nevertheless, the Trophy is once again very popular this year, and in every age group. As last year, the average age is once again in the early 40s.

Varied profile
The stages in the Aegeri valley started in beautiful fall weather. After the starting signal for the Ägeriseelauf was given for the 20th time in July, the lake is once again the main attraction of the long stage. None other than the OC President of the Ägeriseelauf is responsible for the stage. Bruno Schuler, himself a passionate runner, enthuses: "Our stage offers a varied profile on the short and medium route with many crisp passages on different surfaces. And the long route around the lake is and remains a gem." In the first week, a total of around 200 people clocked their running or walking time here.

100 times on the rates
Roland Müller, member of Veloclub Ägeri, is responsible for the maintenance of the Mountain Trophy and characterizes the route as follows: "After an initial climb, there is a rather flatter middle section and finally, on the last kilometer, there's another opportunity to go all out on the crisp incline. You are rewarded for your efforts with a magnificent view of the Raten region and the Ägeri valley." In the first seven days of the stage, almost 100 athletes have cycled or walked the six kilometers.
