Three times around Lake Aegeri for a good cause
Around 20 runners accompanied Ruedi Frehner and his project ruedirennt.ch on the first of three laps.
At our invitation, Ruedi Frehner from Graubünden stopped off at Lake Aegeri with his fundraising project "Ruedi runs 30 marathons in 30 days". Around 20 runners accompanied him on the first of the three laps.
With the RUEDIRENNT brand, Ruedi Frehner repeatedly makes an appearance with spectacular charity running projects. He is currently raising money for the Sonnenschein Foundation, which supports children with cancer. Since October 25, he has been running a marathon every day, 30 of them. This idea was also met with great enthusiasm by the organizers of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy. In the name of the Trophy, but privately financed, they bought the 8th of the 30 marathons from Ruedi and brought him to Lake Aegeri last Saturday, November 1, 2025.
It's easier to run in a community
And because running is an individual sport, but feels much better in a group, we called on the Trophy community to join Ruedi on one, two or even three laps. In dry, pleasant weather, a good 20 runners responded to this call and gathered at the Ägeribad at 10 am. The group trotted off at a leisurely pace - unusual for the majority - in an anti-clockwise direction towards Unterägeri.
Two marathon debuts
After the first lap and 14 kilometers, the field thinned out to six runners and one runner from Unterägeri. Among them were the two runners from Unterägeri, Alessandro Rizzolini and Stefan Iten. They took on Grosse and wanted to make their marathon debut today. With a maximum running distance of 25 and 21 kilometers respectively, they already broke their personal distance records on the second lap. After 28 kilometers, a quartet started on the third lap. Ruedi, Alessandro, Stefan and Sara Hübscher, who launched the idea. Still chatting happily, the four of them covered kilometer after kilometer. The two debutants were starting to feel a pinch here and there, but the pace remained constant. As did their good mood. There was a final short break in Morgarten before the "final spurt" towards Oberägeri. Experienced runner Ruedi gave some final tips and the four of them were back at the finish line by the Ägeribad. Welcomed by their families, Stefan Iten and Alessandro Rizzolini had joy and pride written all over their faces!
While they recover, Ruedi continues straight away. He continues to run a marathon every day and will be back in Zugerland next Saturday, November 8. If you want to join him for (part of) the run around Lake Zug, meet him at 10 am at the parking lot in Brüggli. All information about his current and past projects can be found at ruedirennt.ch
