Grand finale of the Zugerberg Finance Trophy 2023
Grand finale: over 100 participants experienced a worthy end to the season.
The permanent timed courses remain a hit. The 19th edition ended with a new record number of participants and a wonderful get-together of the most eager participants in the garden of the presenting sponsor.
These figures make impressive reading: 15,600 starts, 87,900 kilometers covered, 3.15 million meters in altitude. It was great to see the enthusiasm with which the routes were rocked again this year.

No sweat, no gain
For the third time, the most enthusiastic among them were invited to a sumptuous aperitif by presenting sponsor Zugerberg Finanz. However, the entry ticket had to be earned: Those who achieved more than 10,000 vertical meters or 300 km or finished the first-ever brevet of 140 km and 3000 vertical meters were invited. The interest was tremendous: no fewer than 100 people enjoyed themselves, and the achievements of the best climbers were especially recognized. With 107,200 vertical meters, Urs Huber achieved the absolute top score, followed by Heidi Müller and Sti Foerster.
The challenge trophies for the most hard-working companies and clubs were awarded for the first time and were presented to the employees of the "Partners Group" (2,100 km) and the members of the "Höllgrotten Harriers" (14,000 km).
The best of the season
The organizers would also like to congratulate the overall winners: Philipp Arnold won all three distances of the circuit and the mountain run. The women's winners were Sara Zurfluh, Lara Meyer, Doris Nagel-Wallimann and Judith Kerins. Kevin Zürcher and Claudia Sutter were the fastest on racing bikes, Eveline Villiger and Urs Huber on mountain bikes and Maria and Adam Ossowski on gravel bikes.
Pure joie de vivre
It was an evening full of joie de vivre, which also made Timo Dainese, host and CEO of Zugerberg Finanz AG, proud: "It's great that and how we can move people with our commitment." The format not only shines on the outside, but also on the inside, as numerous employees were infected by the Trophy virus, resulting in a fine third place in the company ranking with over 250 starters.
The Trophy now goes into its winter break. The 20th edition begins on February 24, 2024 with the pre-start. Even in the anniversary year, the organizers are sticking to the existing format: "We are proud that we can move people and bring joy to life. The sparkle in the eyes of the participants is both a motivation and an obligation," says Reto Benz, who launched the Trophy in 2005.
