On course at half-time

Even at the age of 87, Werner Bleicher is still a runner on the Zuger Trophy.

After two weeks, the short stage of the Running Trophy has 245 times, the medium stage 351 and the long stage 190 times. Compared to the previous year with a total of 1562 starts, the Steinhausen location also recorded half of the times at the halfway point. The organizers are particularly pleased about the almost 100 starts in the orienteering category. Also because some of the participants expressed their delight at the innovation. One participant, who completed the 4.5-kilometer orienteering course with her children, expressed her thanks with the following message: "We did orienteering for the first time today and were absolutely thrilled. It was fun and my children were always motivated to run as soon as they saw a post. Thanks for the super cool idea."

Uphill at the age of 87
Clocking the arrival time on the mountain was a tricky business last Thursday, April 4. At 818 meters above sea level, there was a good 10 cm of snow. Nevertheless, the Mountain Trophy ranking list already counts almost 300 times. One of them belongs to Werner Bleicher from Baar. Exactly two years ago, he reported here about his love of running, which is still alive today at the age of 87. This makes him the only participant in the over-80s category at the Mountain Trophy and the only runner over 80 in Steinhausen.

Lucerne running series
The first of a total of six Wednesday evening races starts next Wednesday, April 17. The Go In 6 Weeks running series opens in Inwil (LU) with a 9.6-kilometer course. This will be followed in the following weeks by races in Sursee (9.5 km), Rothenburg (9.3 km), Beinwil am See (5.9 km), Grosswangen (9.5 km) and, finally, on 22 May in Rigi Kaltbad over 9.7 kilometers.
