On the home stretch of the second stage
The Hünenberg cycling club on the way to Biel with a detour to the Michel.
The second stage of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy runs until next Sunday, May 21, 2023, when the Trophy moves on to Ennetsee and Zugerberg.
Before the mountain stage moves from Michaelskreuz to Zugerberg at the weekend, the members of Veloclub Hünenberg treated themselves to a ride together on "their" route. They have been recording times here on the Lucerne route for years.

22 cyclists registered for the club ride to Biel. They all braved the rain that Saturday morning. However, they knew nothing about the "Michel-Zückerli", they had prepared themselves for a ride directly to Biel. "More or less happily, they all took part," says Seppi Küng with a smile. Together with Viktor Knüsel, he organized the trip for his club members.
After this "mountain prize", the journey continued towards Entlebuch. Küng explains: "We drove via Doppelschwand to Hasle and on via Burgdorf to Wynigen. The sun finally shone for our well-earned lunch stop." Naturally, the evening in Biel was spent enjoying the culinary and oenological delights. The next day, we headed back to Hünenberg via Solothurn, Langenthal and Zofingen. After 130 kilometers, the group made it home dry before the next thunderstorm.
From Michaelskreuz to Zugerberg
With the start of stage 3 on Monday, the mountain route leads via Rötel, Verenakapelle and Blasenberg to Zugerberg. As last year, the start is at the Ägeristrasse/Weinbergstrasse junction in Zug. The 450 meters of elevation gain are evenly distributed over the 5.8 kilometers.
From Baar into the Ennetsee
Anyone who likes fast asphalt can look forward to the 3rd circuit. The three laps of 2.2 km, 5.1 km and 14 km start at Hünenberger Badi. "The routes along Lake Zug are very varied. On the long lap, you have to conquer a whopping 190 meters of altitude," says Daniel Föllmi, member of the Cham running group and stage organizer.
