One month before the end of the season: the hardest-working extend their lead

The Zugerberg Finanz Trophy season ends on October 4. The leaders of the overall rankings seem to be consolidating their positions. This includes the Siemens team, which is ahead in the company rankings.
These are the rankings for the most altitude and kilometers, which are not about being among the fastest, but about covering as many meters as possible on the Trophy. You can do this alone or as a club or company. Siemens is currently in first place in this company ranking with over 1000 kilometers. Software developer Christian Imfeld, who was able to motivate some of his colleagues to take part, is partly responsible for this. "This company ranking is actually an additional motivator to take part in the Trophy," reveals Christian, perhaps also because there is an internal ranking: "At the end of the season, the top five are entitled to a share of any winnings that we receive as one of the most hard-working teams."
Between rivers and mountains
Steinhauser is currently in third place behind two work colleagues. However, he is not pursuing any sporting goals, he simply enjoys running, which is why Christian has been running Swiss rivers for some time now, from source to mouth: "I call it 'Run-a-River'. I started with the Reuss. Then I gradually added the Limmat, Linth, Sihl and Kleine Emme. During the coronavirus period, I ventured onto the Aare and I've now also done the Thur, Töss and Glatt. It's just great to keep discovering new places in Switzerland." In addition to jogging, he loves alpine hiking. "I completed the 'AW50 project' with a colleague last year. Between 2015 and 2023, we did all 50 tours from the book 'The most beautiful alpine hikes in Switzerland' by David Coulin. They were great tours, from the Dents du Midi in the southwest to the Marwees (Alpstein) in the northeast."
And what is his favorite stage on the Trophy? "Steinhausen, because most of it leads through the forest and probably also because I live there. I also like the mountain stages in Menzingen and Ägeri. And the loop around Lake Ägeri is always a nice way to end the season." Speaking of the end of the season: the last stages in the Ägeri valley officially start next Monday, September 6, and this year's event ends on Friday, October 4.
