The Ineichens from Steinhausen impressively demonstrate how the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy can become family fun. They have all started over 100 times: Livio, Seraina and Nino as well as their mother Beatrice.
It all started in 2020: "The Trophy was one of the few activities allowed during the lockdown. That's why we completed the stage on our doorstep in Steinhausen several times," says Beatrice Ineichen, who didn't clock her own laps at the beginning. "Talking to other participants made us want to run all the circuits the following year. And that's what we achieved." At her children's request, her name then also appeared in the ranking list. "So they were delighted that they were faster than their mom." The altitude challenge gave the children additional motivation. Eight-year-old Livio really wanted those cool socks, even though they were still far too big for him. The hoodie that he and his siblings Seraina and Nino, who were two and four years older, bought was also far too big. "But I was allowed to get one for all three children, which was then embroidered. We were really happy about that and the children wear it very often," says mother Beatrice, delighted with the gifts from Zugerberg Finanz AG, the presenting sponsor of the Trophy.
Goal: course record
"This year's goal is to complete all the circular and mountain courses. This is necessary if we all want to reach the goal of the altitude challenge. Seraina is still a few meters short, but the rest is done. Livio has already done over 10,000." In addition to the challenge, the children are pursuing other ambitious goals. Livio dreams of running a course record one day. He has been a member of the Hochwacht Zug athletics club since May 2022. Nino would like to see his name ahead of Philipp Arnold in the rankings one day and Seraina wants to continue collecting the altitude meters required for the Challenge in the future. And her mother? "I'll be happy if I can equal my time from the previous year on every course."
