The mountain stage for dessert
The "Team Advantage" responsible for the current mountain stage on the joint bike tour in the Reuss plain.
Team Advantage is responsible for the current Trophy mountain stage from Zug to the Zugerberg. On the club's internal "Active Day", it was the treat that a few members treated themselves to at the end.
On Saturday, May 25, almost 20 members of the endurance sports club met at 8 a.m. for a 75-minute swim training session in the Herti indoor pool. After the coffee break, the focus was on tricks and tips on how to get to the transition area quickly in a triathlon. During the lunch break, there was a lively exchange about the next competitions, the best equipment and the most beautiful running and cycling routes. At 12 noon, the group set off for bike training. They set off from Herti towards Cham and Sins in the Reuss plain, the ideal terrain for practising a smooth pedal stroke. The route led back to Zug via Maschwanden and Niederwil. The original plan to add the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy stage to the tour was only followed by a quartet. The passionate cyclists preferred the mountain route to the final half-hour "Koppellauf", which the remaining team members completed.
Twelve times Zugerberg!
The members who did not cycle up the Zugerberg last Saturday will certainly be cycling or walking the route in the coming days. Just like many other Trophy fans have been doing for days. Because once again, incredible stories are being written as part of the format. On the same Saturday, for example, Nicolas Lemaitre and Lukas Küng completed the 5.8-kilometre, 450-metre climb up the Zugerberg twelve times on their gravel bikes. That equates to 5400 meters of altitude!
Although the stages can be completed throughout the season due to the anniversary edition, participation during the official time window is popular. This is because only those who take part during the official four weeks are included in the overall ranking. After one week, the organizers have recorded almost 200 starts on the Zugerberg and over 160 on the circuits in Ennetsee.
