Tourism President explores the Trophy

Fridolin Bossard knows the Aegeri Valley and the Aegeri Valley knows him. Last Sunday, the 37-year-old took part in the Zuger Trophy for the first time.

Fridolin Bossard wears many hats. As President of Ägerital-Sattel Tourismus, he is committed to gentle, sustainable tourism in the region. "We mainly want to attract day visitors from our own canton, but also from neighboring cantons." The wide range of activities on offer, including the Ägeribad and the many biking and hiking trails, is particularly appealing to sports enthusiasts.

Ufe und abe
As head of the Security and Services department, sport falls under Bossard's remit as a member of the Unteräger municipal council. He was familiar with the Zug Trophy from there. He says that it was high time he ran a route himself and the 3.9-kilometre route with its crisp 110-metre elevation gain was the ideal way to start. "It's a beautiful loop. I really liked the constant 'Ufe and Abe'. And yes, the Zuger Trophy would actually be something we could take a closer look at in terms of tourism," says Fridolin Bossard with a grin. Anyone who lives in Ägeri and doesn't dislike running has of course already taken part in the Ägeriseelauf. Fridolin Bossard is no exception: "The 14.14 kilometers around the lake are doable even without extensive training. That's why our run is so popular."

Meaningful work
In addition to his two positions in tourism and on the local council, Fridolin Bossard is the full-time manager of the Dr. Bossard private school, which he runs together with his siblings. "We run a day school with boarding facilities for around 50 pupils with various school difficulties. Lessons take place in small, curative education classes and are tailored to the individual needs and abilities of the pupils." The contact with the children is enriching and the meaningful work is very fulfilling, says Fridolin Bossard.
