Provides exciting stories - the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy around Lake Aegeri
The Zugerberg Finanz Trophy 2022 is still two and a half weeks away and will end on October 7 at 6 pm. Until then, we look forward to hearing the exciting stories of the Trophy participants.
Mountain biker Urs Huber took part in the Trophy for the first time two weeks ago. Janina Wüst has regularly finished first in the MTB rankings for the third year in a row. Both competed last weekend at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Haderslev, Denmark. Wüst finished 13th in the 90-kilometer race and Huber 23rd in the 120-kilometer race.
After a one-off participation in the Trophy last year, Oriol Ruiz is competing regularly this year. Now the Spaniard, who lives in Cham, lined up all the mountain stages last Sunday: just under 130 kilometers and a good 2700 meters in altitude. He titled his tour "Zugerberg Finanz Trophy 2022 - The Full Experience" on the endurance sports app Strava.
Twice around Lake Aegeri
Reto Benz, project manager of the Zugerberg Finanz Trophy, also boasts personal bests at the end of the season. Last week, he ran the loop around Lake Aegeri in wind, rain, sleet and sunshine for the first time in a kilometer average of under four minutes. He needed just 67 minutes for the 17.2 kilometers (3:53 min/km). Doris Nagel-Wallimann was also out and about on Lake Aegeri. At the beginning of the week, she posted on her Instagram account about her "Mondaymotivation", the prospect of a 34-kilometer long run at the weekend. For these 34 kilometers, she completed the long loop around Lake Aegeri twice. After all, she will also have to run two laps of the marathon in Lucerne.
Speaking of the marathon in Lucerne - have you registered yet? The organizers are delighted with the current number of registrations - over 1000 marathoners, 4300 half-marathoners and 1200 10km city run participants. If you register before September 30, 2022, you can save ten to twenty francs on the registration fee, depending on the category.
