Visiting the Trophy

Sandro Peer, Anikó Nemeth, Anita Wissmann, Sima Djalali and Jan Dehisselles got to know the Zuger Trophy circuit in Steinhauser Wald.

A group of five runners got to know the Raiffeisen Zuger Trophy in Steinhauser Wald. And they are enthusiastic about the idea.

The five running enthusiasts train regularly on their own or in their training groups. Now they have been invited to take part in a leisurely long run in the canton of Zug. Anita Wissmann was already familiar with the trophy when she worked in Zug. Back then, she got to know Etappe_05 Zug as part of a running course. Anita had never been to Steinhauser Wald before, but was delighted with the beautiful route: "The gentle ups and downs, mostly on forest paths, are fun."

"I'll be back"
Anikó Nemeth, Jan Dehisselles and Sima Djalali, all three from Küsnacht (ZH), were in the canton of Zug for the first time. They also think the idea of the Zug Trophy is fantastic. Jan, who is currently preparing for the Zurich Marathon, likes "the combination of competitive elements, wonderful nature and running routes for every ability level." Anikó doesn't want to stop at this one stage: "If all the routes are this exciting and varied, I'll definitely be back." For Sandro Peer, the stamp on the map awakened his competitive spirit: "I should actually come back and run the course at speed." He still has until next Sunday, April 21, to do so. Then it's over in Steinhausen and on the Horben.

It continues
From Easter Monday, April 22, 2019, the timing devices will be ready for stage_02. In Root, the 3.4-kilometre climb to the Michaelskreuz involves 340 meters of elevation gain. But there are also altitude meters waiting for the athletes in Baar. There are 110 on the 3.8-kilometre (short) route, 210 on the 6.9-kilometre (medium) and 370 on the 14.6-kilometre (long) route. Ideal for burning off that Easter chocolate.
